Here I am with my good friend and colleague Mary Beth at Grad night. I'll put up some more photos next week after the end-of-the-year Staff party. The evening's theme was "Hollywood" and they even had a "walk of fame" complete with red carpet, movie cameras, a giant Oscar, movie posters, etc. Tables were decorated with glittery gold fabric, feather boas and candles. It was a lovely evening and I'll always remember it. The kids seemed so grown up, especially the girls.
Hi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a very memorable evening. What a neat idea for grad night...a lot different than when I was in elementary school. I'll be checking back to see more photos next week.
Have a wonderful weekend girlfriend
Thx Willy, I hope to have a good day today,at least. At noon I have a blind date for coffee and then I'm going to my daughter's for dinner. Her hubby is away with the guys camping for the weekend so we'll have a great time with Noah. Hope you have a good weekend, too. See you soon, I hope. I'll email you.
ReplyDeleteok leslie, noon time is past, so now can we hear about your blind date?
ReplyDeletei like your school's grad nite celebration, especially the red carpet. what a great idea!
i'll check back for date details. *LOL*

Hi Sylvia - the blind date was a dud. Well...he was okay but I felt no "spark" and apparently he didn't either. This was a first: he said after almost an hour that he didn't know about these "personals" and we weren't a match - probably just him he said. So, no loss - just another toad in my book. LOL But thanks for asking.
ReplyDeleteI had a wonderful time at my daughter's. She'd invited me for dinner - just her and Noah who's now 2 1/2. I took a couple of gifts to Noah and after we'd had a lot of fun with those, my daughter said to Noah, "Okay, how about we give Gramma her present?" Well, I was stunned - she gave me a lovely leather journal with an "L" on the front as a retirement gift. But the best was the card and what she wrote on it. It made me cry - I guess I did okay as a Mom after all.
hi leslie, thanks for sharing. i haven't been on any dates yet, but i'm learning from others that if it doesn't work out, it's not to be taken personally. i guess that's true. everyone just won't be a match. i think it takes courage to go on a first date with someone new, but even more courage for a blind date.
ReplyDeletewhat a great surprise from your daughter and grandson. it does make you feel good when your children, or even grandchildren, express to you how wonderful a person you are and have been in their lives. i know the leather journal is so beautiful, and something you will have to treasure always. have a peaceful rest tonite.
