"A picture is worth a thousand words" is a proverb that refers to the idea that complex stories can be described with just a single still image, or that an image may be more influential than a substantial amount of text. (Wikipedia)
Thought you might like to see what I've been photographing the last few weeks. What do these say to you?
Leslie, that third shot has the swirls of an oil painting.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work. More, please!
Never mind what they say to me; it's how they make me feel when I look at them. Calm. Happy. Serene comes to mind. And David is quite correct about that 3rd one down. That's the ticket. Simply divine!
ReplyDeleteAnd I like your new profile pic, too.
It says you have some very nice flowers in your garden. Good shots Leslie.
ReplyDeleteLeslie, a song I sang as a child by Jan Struther,
ReplyDelete1. Daisies are our silver,
Buttercups our gold:
This is all the treasure
We can have or hold.
2. Raindrops are our diamonds
And the morning dew;
While for shining sapphires
We've the speedwell blue.
3. These shall be our emeralds
Leaves so new and green;
Roses make the reddest
Rubies ever seen.
4. God, who gave these treasures
To your children small,
Teach us how to love them
And grow like them all.
5. Make us bright as silver:
Make us good as gold;
Warm as summer roses
Let our hearts unfold.
6. Gay as leaves in April,
Clear as drops of dew
God, who made the speedwell,
Keep us true to you.
What do they say to me?
ReplyDeleteA bright and sunny "Hello", that's what...
Leslie, what these photos say to me is that you are an excellent photographer, and all you need is your eye and your camera. Period.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...!
Pretty .. and I wish I could sniff them
ReplyDelete:-Daryl

aphotoaday - and and big quacky Hello back to you! :D
Jo - I am getting better, eh?
Daryl - the ones in the first photo smelled absolutely divine!
Beautiful pictures and flowers.
ReplyDeleteDo you know, I've lost the plot this week as regards visiting blogs. Blame it on husband being home and poorly.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers. All beautiful but I was specially touched by the purity of the rose.
