About Me

My photo
Delta, British Columbia, Canada
I took very early retirement from teaching in '06 and did some traveling in Europe and the UK before settling down to do some private tutoring. As a voracious reader, I have many books waiting in line for me to read. Tell me I shouldn't read something, and I will. I'm a happy, optimistic person and I love to travel and through that believe that life can be a continuous learning experience. I'm looking forward to traveling more some day. I enjoy walking, cycling, water aerobics & and sports like tennis, volleyball, and fastpitch/baseball. I'm just getting into photography as a hobby and I'm enjoying learning all the bits and bobs of my digital camera. My family is everything to me and I'm delighted to be the mother of two girls and the Gramma of a boy and a girl. I may be a Gramma, but I'm at heart just a girl who wants to have fun.

ME AND MY CAR

This is one of the photos I took the same day my daughter and I went walking in Bear Creek Park. I really like this one. Also, here I am with my car.

Hi Leslie,
Thought I would check in with you before I retire for the night. Nice pictures...I really love the trees with the moss or ivy growing up the trunk...beautiful...
I'm glad you checked my blog and noticed that Linda in Santa Cruz wants to plan a get together in March maybe? Isn't that the time you'll be available? Let her know what dates work best for you and we'll just hope the rain doesn't fall during that time :)

Hi Willy! I WILL NOT ALLOW IT TO RAIN IN CALIFORNIA IN MARCH! Well, it would HAVE to be better than here unless we get an exceptional early Spring. Yes, for sure I will keep in touch and will try to come down in March.

By the way, are you going to do either of the cruises? I was looking at the prices and frankly, I don't think there's any "deal" there! For a room with balcony, it will be waaaay over $2,000 Cdn but I'll have to get it figured out properly. I may end up not going because of the cost. I'll see. What about you? Do you know anyone else who is definitely going to go?

Hi Leslie
Linda from Santa Cruz will be coming to Paso Robles in January and maybe we can talk about a get together in March...we'll certainly keep you posted.

I have to admit that I haven't given much thought to the cruise...right now I'm looking forward to our family cruise to Mexico coming up Dec 2nd thru Dec 8th. We have a group of 16 family members and friends going.

When I left Colorado back in 1999 I was offered a job at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska. Since I was going through a divorce, I turned down the offer. The woman who took the job is still there and loves it! I have never been to Alaska and would like to see it but not sure if I want to do it this way or on my own...
As for prices, you'll probably get a better deal on line directly through Holland America or one of the cruise specialists. I think I'll check around and if I find a great deal, I'll let you know...

Hi Leslie,
I just realized I owed you a 'hello'...I forget to check my own blog! Yep...we never had a chance at that SB thing but I think we at least deserve a big fat "thank-you" for all our cheerleading! I just posted a humorous story about my day today if you wanna check it out. At least I think it is humorous but I am a little warped!
