About Me

My photo
Delta, British Columbia, Canada
I took very early retirement from teaching in '06 and did some traveling in Europe and the UK before settling down to do some private tutoring. As a voracious reader, I have many books waiting in line for me to read. Tell me I shouldn't read something, and I will. I'm a happy, optimistic person and I love to travel and through that believe that life can be a continuous learning experience. I'm looking forward to traveling more some day. I enjoy walking, cycling, water aerobics & and sports like tennis, volleyball, and fastpitch/baseball. I'm just getting into photography as a hobby and I'm enjoying learning all the bits and bobs of my digital camera. My family is everything to me and I'm delighted to be the mother of two girls and the Gramma of a boy and a girl. I may be a Gramma, but I'm at heart just a girl who wants to have fun.

Autumn Arrives

I didn't go to Gentle Fit at the pool this morning. Instead, I went for a lovely walk around the neighbourhood, camera in hand, hoping to catch a few shot of the beginning of autumn. Luck would have it and I did get a few good ones. We don't have any brilliant colours on the trees yet, but because we've been alternating between rainy and sunny days, things are starting to look a bit weary and dreary. Be sure to click on the photos to see them in more detail. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Gosh leslie - this could have been in our garden - the yellow rose, the conkers and the apples - but the weather is not so crisp here - cold and windy but am still venturing on the beach with Freida! My new regime - come hail or shine - the beach each morning!

Lovely! Conkers are very hard to find here this year.

I'm wondering if the prickly looking ones are conkers? They are so pretty! It's dreary here today but I'm dring 100 miles to see one of my almost daughters! So I'm excited!!

What gorgeous photos! Yes it is definitely fall on the way here too! Leaves are changing and it has been rainy and dreary a few days this week - same as this morning!
Hope all is well. Take care Leslie.

The conkers look exciting - or are they real chesnuts? I don't know the difference!
