About Me

My photo
Delta, British Columbia, Canada
I took very early retirement from teaching in '06 and did some traveling in Europe and the UK before settling down to do some private tutoring. As a voracious reader, I have many books waiting in line for me to read. Tell me I shouldn't read something, and I will. I'm a happy, optimistic person and I love to travel and through that believe that life can be a continuous learning experience. I'm looking forward to traveling more some day. I enjoy walking, cycling, water aerobics & and sports like tennis, volleyball, and fastpitch/baseball. I'm just getting into photography as a hobby and I'm enjoying learning all the bits and bobs of my digital camera. My family is everything to me and I'm delighted to be the mother of two girls and the Gramma of a boy and a girl. I may be a Gramma, but I'm at heart just a girl who wants to have fun.

Metalxmonkey's birthday

We had a great time on Jaclyn's 26th birthday. She takes after her Mom in that she sure doesn't look her age (i.e. younger). After some time at home with prezzies, food, and cake the girls headed out for a fun night of karaoke. Wish I could have gone to get some shots from there! :)

Hi, Leslie. Happy birthday to Jaclyn. It looks like a fun party. Great photos.

I have the munchkins with me this weekend. They're a hoot. They make me laugh, even when they don't mean to be funny :-)

Talk to you soon,

Josie

Gee, Leslie, the apple didn't fall far from the tree in your household, did it. Nice pictures and nice family. You are blessed in that regard. And,you are right about the asparagus, by the way.

My feeling about birthdays is that it's the ONLY day of the year that's ALL YOURS! And you should feel special for that day. I love to celebrate my girls' b'days plus my son-in-law and I share a birthday, so that's usually a lot of fun, too.

My birthday is two days after Christmas, so needless to say, I often get "forgotten"... I've never had anyone throw me a big party.

I think I will change my birthday to June :-)

Oh WOW Josie! My sister's is 4 days after, but we always make an effort to celebrate somehow. I always get her a gift and she always saves the b'day gifts for that special day. Although when we were kids, she used to complain that dinner was always turkey casserole! LOL

My mom used to make an effort too, but as your sister days, it was always left over turkey. And my mom used to wrap my gifts in birthday wrap, not Christmas wrap...:-)

I have posted a picture of my munchkins on my blog so you can see them, but they're only going to be there for a day.

Hi, Leslie. I managed to post one of Freddie as well. A VERY serious school picture. They're coming down tomorrow because I don't want them out there in the "wide world".

MMMMM...that cake looks delicious! I want some!
Your daughter is beautiful and I have to agree that you look like sisters. You look great! And your grandson is a doll.
So...did you and Josie finally meet? I can't believe you're so close and have never met....shame on both of you!
Have a wonderful weekend...
