About Me

Delta, British Columbia, Canada
I took very early retirement from teaching in '06 and did some traveling in Europe and the UK before settling down to do some private tutoring. As a voracious reader, I have many books waiting in line for me to read. Tell me I shouldn't read something, and I will. I'm a happy, optimistic person and I love to travel and through that believe that life can be a continuous learning experience. I'm looking forward to traveling more some day. I enjoy walking, cycling, water aerobics & and sports like tennis, volleyball, and fastpitch/baseball. I'm just getting into photography as a hobby and I'm enjoying learning all the bits and bobs of my digital camera. My family is everything to me and I'm delighted to be the mother of two girls and the Gramma of a boy and a girl. I may be a Gramma, but I'm at heart just a girl who wants to have fun.

CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

After a miserable winter here in Vancouver, BC, we look forward to the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. Everywhere you look, these trees are beginning to bloom. The various shades of pink contrasting with the bright blue sky uplift the spirits of Vancouverites who are tired of the dismal grey gloom. With heads high and cheeks rosy with excitement for summer just around the corner, we gasp with admiration and realize that all the rain was worth it. Next Saturday, my good friend Josie and I will have our fill of the sight and smell of these bounteous blossoms. I plan on taking my camera and will try to capture the beauty of beaches and boulevards lined with these fabulous cherry trees. Stay tuned.

Me?

I'm still stuck here in Chekhov'e Cherry Orchard in Toronto.
Seething, roiling passions in the snow. Heh.

hi leslie, the cherry blossoms are beautiful. i hope ours don't get destroyed by cold, frost, or high winds.

so who's your favorites this week on american idol? i liked haley. i thought she was better than any other week. last week she forgot her words. i always like blake, the be-box (?) guy. no one else really wowed me this week.

i watched dancing with the stars last nite also. i thought the judges were extremely hard in their grading.

Hi Sylvia, I'm into both those shows and even voted on "Dancing" - really like the English version, too. Okay, tonight I liked Blake (although he's not really my favourite of all), Melinda (of course!), and Jordin. I think the 3 who sang the worst were Stephanie (she was off key), Gina (off key, too), and probably Phil. We'll see tomorrow night.

i was just coming back to say, of course melinda was good. i agree with your review. gina's the idol rocker this year, but last nite was loud and noisy. jordin sang with michael w. smith on his christmas tour for 2005 and 2006. i saw both shows.
