Last week, I decided to take a trip on the new Canada Line rapid transit from Richmond to Vancouver. I got this shot from the front window as the train left the station in Richmond going north towards Vancouver. I like the variety of straight lines in the photo and if you look towards the top, you'll see wavy lines of the North Shore Mountains that hover over the city and Burrard Inlet. Click to enlarge photo.
Most of the trip was underground and thus dark...I was glad I had someone to talk to during the trip. I think I'd rather pay for parking downtown, though, than take the train again as I had to take a bus into Richmond and then catch the train to the city. All in all, they figured this would make people's travel times shorter, but in actuality, it was far longer. Ah well...bureaucrats!

You have some great contrasts and lines in this photo. Well done!
Great - I got a feeling of a roller coaster out of this photo. Great perspective!
I love this shot. The perspective turned out so well.
Nice texture and lines in this shot Leslie! :)
Nice perspective!
All those cables and tracks gave a great depth to the photo.
Once for the experience... and the picture.
on sept. 7th the busses change and the 601 will take you down the highway to Bridgeport Station (at the River Rock casino) and it'll actually be a LOT faster.
Also, thanks for holding back on the clean-house lecture, and for getting me from the PNE and saving me a CRAPLOAD of taxi fare, and waiting at the hospital with me and everything. :) xox
The Broken Daughter
Bridges make strong monochrome subjects. I took some in London a few days ago that I must use.
I love the lines here. Great photo.
Nice lines! I think city transit systems still have a few bugs. But there's hope for the future.
wonderful lines :-) and i like the perspective
nice perspective
Lovely image, I like the lines looks like a real roller coaster of a ride though...
The mountains in the sky line are brilliant.
Great perspective. I really love cable-stayed bridges, they have such wonderful lines.
That's a nice one but the journey sounds dreadful!
Extremely nice image. It reminds me of ..... a roller coaster! Heh! But I know it is a beautiful, state of the art train which will be enjoyed by people in Vancouver for many years. That black and white image would win awards at many photography contests. It is extremely good and, yes, the lines are really, really nice in that image.
I really like the photographs you posted of the PNE. The last one of the ferris wheel and the beautiful night sky is breath taking.
Beautiful lines in that photo. Too bad so much of the ride is underground.
Wonderful lines and shapes. I like this a lot.
I love the lines (pardon the pun) in this photo. Nice perspective!
