About Me

My photo
Delta, British Columbia, Canada
I took very early retirement from teaching in '06 and did some traveling in Europe and the UK before settling down to do some private tutoring. As a voracious reader, I have many books waiting in line for me to read. Tell me I shouldn't read something, and I will. I'm a happy, optimistic person and I love to travel and through that believe that life can be a continuous learning experience. I'm looking forward to traveling more some day. I enjoy walking, cycling, water aerobics & and sports like tennis, volleyball, and fastpitch/baseball. I'm just getting into photography as a hobby and I'm enjoying learning all the bits and bobs of my digital camera. My family is everything to me and I'm delighted to be the mother of two girls and the Gramma of a boy and a girl. I may be a Gramma, but I'm at heart just a girl who wants to have fun.

My Town Part 1

Just a couple of blocks away from the main drag of the village, is the Ladner Wharf where you can buy fresh salmon off the docks in the summer. At Christmas, there is a boat light parade along this tributary of the Fraser River and a choir singing carols after the annual Christmas parade through town.

This is a lovely view showing how close we are to real country living.

Finally, this is the entrance to my little neighbourhood in a more modern area of town. Y'all welcome any time!

Post part II

Hi again, the system is down at work so I am checking out the blogs...seen your post on Ians site...I am here....alive and well...working full time, night classes full time...and of course trying to spend time with Bun-Bun...oofffddda. I told my family...see ya in two years...lol. Going full time nights will be a bit much. I am not sure they belived me, but once they see my phone is off the hook, and my cell turned off...they will believe me. LOL. I am going straight thru year round so I can graduate with my Bachelors in 2008, did not want to drag it out to 2010. I will be soooooo glad when 2008 rolls around. I am just praying for a mild winter. I do have a bit of a drive to the University.

Take care...I will "hop" back from time to time....trying to read at least one new blog a week. (another high bar I have set for myself...one of many)

Enjoy your fun filled day....

Wow, Peg! You have really taken on a lot for the next 2 years! Here I am sick of studying and you're just starting out. Well, it will be worth it in the long run. I now have different dreams and will be kept busy trying to fulfill them. In the meantime, I do intend on having a great summer vacation resting, visiting, doing all the odd job around the house that I haven't had time for, etc. I'm glad you kept your cell - I have one but only use it for emergencies and keep it in the car.

I loved visiting your town through your blog...thanks for sharing...makes me want to go there for sure!
This was a good idea and I'll have to take my camera for a walk around town and not just to the park...
Have you and Josie gotten together yet?
Hi Peg
You know that you can use your cell for emergencies withought having it activated? Just keep it charged...you can only dial 911 and it HAS to be for emergencies only. A lot of people donate their old cell phones to women's shelters just for this purpose.
Let me go on to the next set of pics...
