About Me

My photo

I took very early retirement from teaching in '06 and did some traveling in Europe and the UK before settling down to do some private tutoring. As a voracious reader, I have many books waiting in line for me to read. Tell me I shouldn't read something, and I will. I'm a happy, optimistic person and I love to travel and through that believe that life can be a continuous learning experience. I'm looking forward to traveling more some day. I enjoy walking, cycling, water aerobics & and sports like tennis, volleyball, and fastpitch/baseball. I'm just getting into photography as a hobby and I'm enjoying learning all the bits and bobs of my digital camera. My family is everything to me and I'm delighted to be the mother of two girls and the Gramma of a boy and a girl. I may be a Gramma, but I'm at heart just a girl who wants to have fun.

Camping Adventures

My older daughter and her husband took 3 1/2 year-old Noah camping over Father's Day weekend with another couple and their 3 year-old daughter. It appears they all had a fun time so I thought I'd share some of their photos.
Mommy and Daddy
The forest is a bit spooky.
Well, actually it's kinda pretty.
Fishing with Daddy.
Playing chase with Payton.
Stoking the campfire with Daddy.
Roasting wienies with Payton.
Snuggling with Daddy.

Do you like your cookie, Payton?

Leslie, that looks like SO MUCH FUN. Where did that little fellow get that gorgeous hair????

Well, actually my younger daughter had curly hair like that when she was little and even today is naturally wavy. When she was about 4 years old, it looked like it was just below her shoulders but when it was wet was down to her bottom!

Those curls had to be done with an iron!

That is a sweet photo of Payton and Noah. It's not just the hair. What about those eyes and is that a dimple peeking out?! LOL

I'm telling you, folks, that hair is 100% natural...no curling iron involved! I am so jealous! He gets it from him Daddy (before daddy went bald).

There's that curly-haired charmer having fun again. Good pictures Leslie. Camping is fun, we did it for years, although I have no interest now. Too old to sleep on the ground now.

Yeah, I think I was too old when I was about 12 or 13 - the last time my parents took us camping. Three teenage daughters aren't really into that sort of thing. But I can sure see how happy Jason is taking his little guy out fishing. Did you notice the look on Noah's face as he's fishing? He's loving it!

Ooooooo Leslie these pictures are beautiful, and what a gorgeous looking camp spot.

Noah is so cute, my favorite picture is him going ooooh on the bike, his little facial expressions are priceless.

Loved the local phone call joke, heaven it is..

I don't know if any of you clicked on the photos to look at the HUGE ones, but try clicking especially on the one where they're roasting weinies. Noah's is holding the stick and his little tongue is out. Payton, like a little princess, is waiting patiently to be served. It's just TOO comical.
