So what was so good? Well, saliva is building up just from the memory! We had rack of lamb - done in his own, made-from-scratch marinade. He did roasted potatoes with some sort of whatsit drizzled on top (oh yes, extra virgin olive oil) and spices, and asparagus sauteed in the frying pan with butter, freshly chopped garlic and ginger and a drizzle of lemon juice. He also made a great salad, but we didn't even get to that.
L loves to cook and watches all the cooking shows, including "Restaurant Makeover" on TV. I think that's just perfect as I hate to cook but love all the home renovations and interior design shows. Naturally, I showed him my appreciation for the movie and dinner and told him he's welcome to cook for me any time.
He did remind me, though, that I made my mother's recipe for homemade macaroni and cheese for him years ago, and he'd love it if I made it for him again. So I guess it's my turn next.
Oh, L cleaned everything up, too.

I love the Christmas theme on your blog right now. Cool :-)
I made sure my son knew/knows how to cook so that he can always take care of himself and impress his dates. How cool is it that your dates can do the same! I hope you thoroughly enjoyed yourself!
Is love in the air?? Hmmm??
Peace - D
Gotta love a man who cooks! There's a new life coming looks like! :)
I came right over here as soon as I read that there was a man in your kitchen! And I am so glad I did. It is so wonderful to read about your happiness. And your mouth-watering dinner. Good. For. You!!
He cooks and cleans up - wow. And you sound so wonderfully happy. So pleased for you.
Huggles and care
Your blog looks really great. I came straight over when I saw the title :-) pleased you had a great time..wow he has certainly made himself at home...and he cleaned up. What more could a girl want!!
I agree I find it very sexy too ;-)
The meal sounds and looks fabulous and very romantic. I don't suppose L has a brother?!
Sorry, WL, but he only has one sister who he doesn't ever see. But I'll certainly let you know if I find out he has some single friends! lol
He can cook that is all always a good trait.
Coffee is on.
Leslie - does L have a bunch of brothers *lol* ?? There may be a rush at the door to snap them up if they are anything like L.
Your pictures of your grandchildren are lovely :D they look so happy !!!!
That sounds llike paradise to me, Leslie.
Sounds like you found quite a guy! Goodness! Any man who can cook - and who enjoys it - is pretty special!
I will confess I love to eat but I am not much good in the kitchen...! I make the basics but, well, I have never had a great interest in actually cooking or baking. I have lots of respect for any man or woman who knows their way around a kitchen, though.
I hope this "L" person makes you lots more meals! Consider yourself fortunate! Rack of lamb and homemade marinades are, well, a long way from the hamburgers I make!! Heh!!
Take care.
Men who can cook well are indeed special, but it's even better that yours cleans up after himself too. That makes him pure gold!
Congratulations on having such a great fellow and making David's list. Fantastic menu btw.
Peace!
Oooooooooooooooooooooooh!
What about afters??? wink wink! LOL!

Congrats on POTD. Seems to me that "L" is a keeper. :)
I think macaroni and cheese for rack of lamb is a pretty good trade!
Yes that's great : a man who cooks for you! Wonderful to see you happy!
Hi,
I'm a first-time visitor over from David's, congratulations on post of the day!
I agree with you about a man in the kitchen... my man was a head chef in a London restaurant when I first met him, although since we moved to Brazil 10 years ago he's not in that trade anymore.
However he still cooks for me when he's home and it's so wonderful!
I'm useless in the kitchen... the most I can do is scrambled eggs or instant noodles!
I want to see that film "Australia" too! I'm a big fan of Nicole Kidman and I love the sound of that film!
I'm also a first time visitor coming your way via David... Congrats on your POTD!
And you couldn't be more dead on... I love a man who knows his way around a kitchen. My GOODNESS, rack of lamb? Sign me up!
I can't wait to read more :)
Well you are lucky woman Leslie. Enjoy it thoroughly.
I love him already.
Hi Leslie.... I obviously have so much to learn! When Marcell gave me the message that "Leslie was in Love" I was so happy... and could not wait to see this! I could not believe this and read the stories and here I am... I will be back later to read more. I had another set back today and in the hospital all day with oxygen and IV's ... I just cannot fight the seizures yet.
I am so happy for you and Mr. L!! I look forward to reading more!
(((HUGS)))
That sounds like a very scrumptious meal...and yes I am sitting here salavating.....so I can understand why you have your next post of "Unforgettable"
