About Me

My photo
Delta, British Columbia, Canada
I took very early retirement from teaching in '06 and did some traveling in Europe and the UK before settling down to do some private tutoring. As a voracious reader, I have many books waiting in line for me to read. Tell me I shouldn't read something, and I will. I'm a happy, optimistic person and I love to travel and through that believe that life can be a continuous learning experience. I'm looking forward to traveling more some day. I enjoy walking, cycling, water aerobics & and sports like tennis, volleyball, and fastpitch/baseball. I'm just getting into photography as a hobby and I'm enjoying learning all the bits and bobs of my digital camera. My family is everything to me and I'm delighted to be the mother of two girls and the Gramma of a boy and a girl. I may be a Gramma, but I'm at heart just a girl who wants to have fun.

ABC Wednesday - F is for....

Ah, the F word today! Which shall I choose? A full moon? A forest? My faith? My fake jewellry? Facet joints that need fusing? Or maybe even a photo I've funneled on PhotoShop. Nah! After checking through some of my photos, these are what I've chosen to share with you today.

First, here is Noah at age 3 1/2, the first time he printed his name.

Here are a few of my favourite floral macros.

Some fishing boats at rest in Victoria Harbour.

A fence at the old farm in Campbell Valley Park.

In Lerici (Italy), I saw these fantastic fountains in the town square.

Friends are the most important people in our lives. Here are Suzanne and me when we went to Manhattan Beach, CA, and biked along the Strand.

A fire is a lovely way to finish a fun evening.

Finally asleep after a fun-filled day with Gramma.

I hoped you enjoyed my fotos today and if you'd like to see fotos of other contributors, click here to check out the new ABC Wednesday site, hosted by Mrs. Nesbitt.

I always enjoy how your ABC posts tell a story and carry me along from one interesting picture to another. That little guy is a good printer for 3 and 1/2!

My favourite is the farm fence. The green field is so vivid. I've been up the cabin quite a bit this summer so I've missed quite a few Wednesdays. I'll be back online tomorrow. -- Margy

What a wonderful collection of Fs! My favorites, though, are the first and the last. Noah is a real charmer.

How blessed you are to have all those nice experiences to show.
Just hope that's not a book burning in the fire; looks like it somehow (sorry, i tend to see such things where they are NOT).
Noah is a real cutie. Look at that head of curls. What fun he must be!

Hi everyone! Thanks for your wonderful comments. A few of you mention you like the photo of the fence - I really like that one, too, because of all the angles. And yes, Noah is a sweetie, but he has a little boy haircut now and looks so much more grown up since his baby sister arrived.

Dina, I looked at the fire again and you're right that it looks like a book burning. But it's not. It's the edge of a piece of wood. We do not burn books here! lol

Leslie, your grandson is sooooo cute! Loved him sleeping with his Spiderman pajamas! Lucas has this costume with the mask, used to be hard to make him take it off! LOL

You and your friends look adorable as well... Actually loved everything.
And you wrote it quite right, "fotos" is the word in Portuguese for photos! :o)

Kisses from Nydia.

Loved all your F's. Thanks for your kind comment on mine. I am envious of you meeting David too. That is so cool. Makes the big world seem a tad smaller. I frequent Josie's blog also. Have a great Labor Day weekend.
