About Me

My photo
Delta, British Columbia, Canada
I took very early retirement from teaching in '06 and did some traveling in Europe and the UK before settling down to do some private tutoring. As a voracious reader, I have many books waiting in line for me to read. Tell me I shouldn't read something, and I will. I'm a happy, optimistic person and I love to travel and through that believe that life can be a continuous learning experience. I'm looking forward to traveling more some day. I enjoy walking, cycling, water aerobics & and sports like tennis, volleyball, and fastpitch/baseball. I'm just getting into photography as a hobby and I'm enjoying learning all the bits and bobs of my digital camera. My family is everything to me and I'm delighted to be the mother of two girls and the Gramma of a boy and a girl. I may be a Gramma, but I'm at heart just a girl who wants to have fun.

Virtual Pet

I saw this virtual pet thingy on someone else's blog site and thought it was really cute. Since I adore dogs, but don't have one at the moment (you may remember what happened to my cocker spaniel last spring) I thought this was great. I've always wanted a chocolate brown dog I could name Hershey - and this is the best kind of all. They don't cost any money for vets, food, toys, kenneling, etc. and best of all, you don't have to clean up after them. So here's my little Hershey - he's fun and you can even play with him. Click on the "more" button, and using your cursor, toss the ball around for him. He'll bark and chase the ball. Oh yes, click on the puppy treats box and feel free to give him a cookie, too. He also watches with curiosity your cursor move around. The only "down" side is that you can't really cuddle him. But what the heck, the pros outweigh the cons, don't you think?

Some of my grandchildren had those computerized virtual pets. They had to program these little hand held computers in order to personalize their pets. I believe the pets bit the dust eventually. It was the craziest thing though.

Hershey, yes, that is what I kept calling the dog next door whose real name was Snickers. He was brown like chocolate. He looked like a Hershey to me.

That is the cutest little pet I've seen in a long time. All the fun and none of the work!

Hi Leslie,
I never have gotten the newsletter. I guess he didn't like me. I didn't realize he was still searching.
I hung up all my photos last night. They look nice. Now I have to make up the placards for the wall.
The City of Hollywood is really publicizing the Art Walk this Saturday. Which is really nice. So we should have a really nice turnout.
Franny is back in town for the show. So we have called today a beach day.

Have an awesome day.

How adorable! Makes me want to go back to my virtual image of President Bush falling from the sky into a bunch of bubble clouds. I'll have to check to see if I still have it.

Well dog my cat.

JR,

Mr. Bush seems in a freefall tonight. Nobody believed the speech.

Fun. I think you're maybe working your way to a real dog, though. Something small, lap doggy type. I suggest a cat, though. :>)

Welcome David. I checked your site but unfortunately my Spanish is rusty and I never learned Portuguese. I know you're commenting on poor little Madeline McCann and how tragic it was. All I can say is I do hope the parents were not involved. You are more than welcome here any time. :D

Thank You for the well wishes Leslie,
The chosen photos are on the site. I just don't have them organized that way yet. I showed 13 in total.
I am signed up for her March show also. We had a nice turn out for a slow September. Our Septembers are brutally hot and very slow down here. And it was a hot one for sure.
Now I have to decide if I want to do some craft shows in between or just go take some more pictures. We'll see. It was fun.

Time for a family dinner on the beach with my kids. A thank you for their hard work and patience with me the last few weeks.
