Some of you may recall that I broke my ankle in two places back in 2013 and it was H..E..double hockey sticks getting back to normal. Then in May 2014, it happened again! And this past May, I took one step down and over it went again! At first the doctors at Emergency thought it was broken, but after further x-rays they determined that it was the old break they were looking at and I'd seriously damaged the ligaments and tendon this time!
So on went the cast - again - to stabilize the ankle until such time as I could start physiotherapy - again! My doctor put me on Vitamin D and Calcium and sent me for a bone density scan. That has come back indicating I have osteopenia - the precursor of osteoporosis. I was shocked, to say the least, but when I see my doctor this week, she will tell me how we'll get a handle on it.
In the meantime, everyone has been so gracious about helping me out around the house and taking Tegan for walks and playing Frisbee. I'm much better now, but can only walk for about 5 minutes - slowly - and not with Tegan pulling me. I am now able to go and watch when one of my daughters, or my son-in-law or my grandchildren take her to the park to play. And last time I took a few photos of her playing Frisbee. And the best thing of all is that I can drive again now - I couldn't for so long because it was my right ankle!
Just for fun, here are a few recent shots of my adorable baby (who is already 2 1/2 years old!) She keeps me going and I can never resist her happy, smiling face - even when under the weather.

Welcome back Leslie,
You have been missed!
So pleased to read that your ankle is improving.
I think most ladies of a certain age have osteopenia, I have it and am crammed full of calcium and vitamin d tablets, along with all the other meds I have to take.
Tegan certainly looks like she enjoys life to the full, especially her jaunts in the park and Frisbee frolics.
It's good that you have a team of doggie chums to help with her exercise. She really is a lovely dog, so pretty and always looks as if she's smiling.
Again, I'm so pleased you've returned to abcw xxx

Welcome back, Leslie! I missed you like all the others did. I hope your ankle will heal soon. Take care.
We are all glad to see you again.
Wil, ABCW Team.
So happy you are back!!! What a ankle ordeal this has been, hoping it finally is fixed this time. Osteoporosis is something I found out I had one year ago.

Glad you are back. I've missed you. Had one of those bone scans last year (turning 65 seems to call for all of those tests that make you start to feel your age - but I refuse). Your poor ankle. I used to sprain mine a lot, but lately I've been better about that. - Margy
Missed you on cyberspace. Get well soon.
My ABC WEDNESDAY
It's good to hear from you again, Leslie! I'm sorry to hear about your osteopenia, and hope the doctor has a great plan in mind for you to handle it. Tegan is looking as beautiful as I remember her. Dogs can bring such joy and peace into our lives. Blessings to you and your family!
I hope you KNOW that I missed you greatly.
ROG, ABCW
So so nice to see you back Leslie but it's not so nice that your ankle is causing you grief. Hope you can strengthen things up with the vitamins and your osteopenia can be treated...
Have a wonderful week and thanks for visiting my blog!
Welcome back Leslie!
What a nasty business with the ankel and its consequences, i wish you all the best of health! Walking with a dog can be to much in that circumstance but ice to see that others help you out! I know how it is when you want something but the body doesn't...
Best wishes

Hope your ankle gets better. I have dislocated knee and it didn't take the hospital to figure it out they didn't know what was wrong or couldn't find anything. But when I looked at it was obivous. Know we shall see what happens next. Best wishes.
So pleased to see you back, Leslie. |Have missed your great posts and presence. Take care - falls can be so dangerous.
oh, she is adorable...so sorry to hear about your ankle, take it easy! I look forward to seeing your posts!
Welcome back ! Your ankle must be your weak point, poor you. Must be awful not to be able to walk around !

Glad you're back, welcome!
I can relate to your ankle injury, having broken my left ankle in two places many years ago. It is one of the bothersome places on my body, especially in winter. Hopefully the doctors have gotten all the issues, and you will be back to your old self in a few weeks! Praying for a speedy recovery!
Lovely dog!
Hope the doctors have a positive treatment plan for your ostopenia. I can just imagine the pain and scariness of your ankle re-breaking the past 2 years. It took nearly that long for my sprained ankles to heal. They took turns feeling horrible. Best wishes to you.
P.S. Your Tegan is a cutie.

You're back, Leslie - great to see your face (profile). Ankles can be a precarious spot. But like anything on your legs, painful whenever we walk:( Wish you a speedy recovery! Cute doggie pics:)
A warm welcome back to you and Tegan. What a downer to have the recurring problem. Hope the doc can sort something out. I'm not too mobile myself at the moment with sciatica so I join your frustration of not being able to walk too much although, I can like you drive (otherwise it might be a case of stir crazy woman).
Good to have you back. Take care of that ankle and get well soon. The pictures you shared are so cheerful. I can see how good your little doggie is for you.

Sorry to read about you having Ankle problems, I also have Ankle problems ever since I had fallen nearly 6 months ago and the doctors still not sure if it is broken or not.
Nice to meet you being this is my first visit here, followed your link from the ABC Wednesday blog. I am a little late at posting up my Letter A, hope you come on by and check it out.
Thanks.
WELCOME BACK!!! I've missed you too (even though I've been having trouble finding my own time to blog). Wishing you the best!
