About Me

My photo
Delta, British Columbia, Canada
I took very early retirement from teaching in '06 and did some traveling in Europe and the UK before settling down to do some private tutoring. As a voracious reader, I have many books waiting in line for me to read. Tell me I shouldn't read something, and I will. I'm a happy, optimistic person and I love to travel and through that believe that life can be a continuous learning experience. I'm looking forward to traveling more some day. I enjoy walking, cycling, water aerobics & and sports like tennis, volleyball, and fastpitch/baseball. I'm just getting into photography as a hobby and I'm enjoying learning all the bits and bobs of my digital camera. My family is everything to me and I'm delighted to be the mother of two girls and the Gramma of a boy and a girl. I may be a Gramma, but I'm at heart just a girl who wants to have fun.

Skywatch Friday

Last Sunday (Feb. 10) my daughter and I went for a walk along Boundary Bay. Here's another great link that tells you all about the area. Check it out as you just might want one more thing to tempt to into traveling to this area of Lotusland (what we natives affectionately call the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia).

It was a beautiful sunny day, but a bit windy and cold. However, we managed to get a few good photos of the area. I particularly watched the clouds moving over us, wondering if I could get any good shots for today. The first photo was taken by my daughter and I chose this one of hers because it's better than a similar one I took.

These are some of the mudflats looking north towards the city of Vancouver.
There was a hint of pink in the clouds which reminded me of Monet.

Can you find the solitary bird in this photo?

Storm clouds began to move across the sky.

When I saw this reflection, I just had to take a shot.

It was much more enchanting in real life, though.

I love all the blue in these pix. It's such a peaceful color. The reflection in the water is really cool. I'd like to try something like that.

Thanks for visiting, by the way. :-)
