About Me

My photo
Delta, British Columbia, Canada
I took very early retirement from teaching in '06 and did some traveling in Europe and the UK before settling down to do some private tutoring. As a voracious reader, I have many books waiting in line for me to read. Tell me I shouldn't read something, and I will. I'm a happy, optimistic person and I love to travel and through that believe that life can be a continuous learning experience. I'm looking forward to traveling more some day. I enjoy walking, cycling, water aerobics & and sports like tennis, volleyball, and fastpitch/baseball. I'm just getting into photography as a hobby and I'm enjoying learning all the bits and bobs of my digital camera. My family is everything to me and I'm delighted to be the mother of two girls and the Gramma of a boy and a girl. I may be a Gramma, but I'm at heart just a girl who wants to have fun.

Nesting

Update: Well, Noah's now with me and Jamie & Jason have headed home. Poor Jamie has a bit of a cold and she's really nervous about tomorrow. But I gave her a huge hug and reassured her that all would be fine.

Tomorrow is the big day for my daughter and her husband - their little angel arrives! They've been preparing all weekend by cleaning house, shopping for groceries, and doing laundry. Yes, they are definitely nesting! They're taking 4-year-old Noah out to McDonald's for his favourite chicken McNuggets and fries and then will bring him over to me to spend a few days.

This afternoon, I'm busy changing the bed, doing some laundry, dusting, and soon I'll walk down to the village to pick up a few items of food that I know Noah will eat. Things like Cheerios for breakfast, jam for sandwiches, carrots and oranges for snacks, and Kraft Dinner for suppers. He's not a big eater, so it needs to be something he will enjoy in order to get it into him. He doesn't whine for things, but is a little guy who doesn't care much about food. (Where did he get that from, I wonder? Not from my side! lol)

Hopefully, it won't rain tomorrow so we can take his bike to the park and he can ride around on it as well as climb on all the kids' apparatus. That'll keep him busy all morning. While my student is here for an hour after school, my younger daughter will keep Noah busy and we'll have an early supper. Then off we'll all go to the hospital as soon as we're done!

I can hardly wait to make the announcement tomorrow. So please send prayers and/or good vibes, whatever your belief system is, that all will go well tomorrow morning and that the baby will arrive safe and sound and that my daughter Jamie will not experience too much discomfort. Also, that Daddy (Jason) will not pass out from joy! (He's SO excited to be having a little princess!)

Update: The family of three soon to be four just before they left Noah with me.

Hope all goes well for your daughter and baby.

Noah sounds just like my grandson Thomas, he is not a big eater and he doesn't whine for things either.
