About Me

My photo
Delta, British Columbia, Canada
I took very early retirement from teaching in '06 and did some traveling in Europe and the UK before settling down to do some private tutoring. As a voracious reader, I have many books waiting in line for me to read. Tell me I shouldn't read something, and I will. I'm a happy, optimistic person and I love to travel and through that believe that life can be a continuous learning experience. I'm looking forward to traveling more some day. I enjoy walking, cycling, water aerobics & and sports like tennis, volleyball, and fastpitch/baseball. I'm just getting into photography as a hobby and I'm enjoying learning all the bits and bobs of my digital camera. My family is everything to me and I'm delighted to be the mother of two girls and the Gramma of a boy and a girl. I may be a Gramma, but I'm at heart just a girl who wants to have fun.

I am feeling blessed

Things are really looking up.

Daughter #2 is doing much much better and will probably be able to return to work in about 2 or 3 weeks. She actually went out tonight with a friend to see U2 in 3D at the Imax Theatre downtown.

Daughter #1 went for her 2nd ultrasound today to check on baby's progress and it's been confirmed that it's a girl. I am SO excited - for them and for me - as I know how blessed I have been to have daughters. It's the first time since my parent's generation that there will be a boy and a girl in the same family. My sister had 2 boys and I had 2 girls. Only about 6 weeks to wait now.

I think Josie and I just might go shopping along 4th Avenue before lifting a glass of wine at that cute little Italian bistro where we're dining tomorrow.

That is great news Leslie. I'm so pleased for her and you too. What is that Josie up to? She's disappeared again except for one painting.

Don't worry about Josie, everyone. She's just taking another break.

So far no snow, Mary Ann although the sky is sort of grey. But I see a brighter patch over in the west. Hopefully, if it does snow, it'll be up in the mountains and not in the city.

Yes, I'm so excited to shop for little girl things. And happy my other daughter is doing so well now.

Wonderful news Leslie. I have three lovely daughters and they bring such joy into our lives. We have three grandchildren too Molly, almost 4 her brother Freddie aged 19 months. These two little beauties belong to our eldest daughter . We also have Olivia, gorgeous, aged 21 months and she belongs to our middle daughter. Our youngest daughter hasn`t produced any babies yet, but now she seems to be in a permanent relationship, who knows ?
youngest daughter has just visited us with her Pug Pup Dog, called Rocco. As it is a bitterly cold day he was wearing a red polo necked sweater with matching scarf. You can`t make it up can you ? We both howled with laughter when we saw him, so cute mind you.
Glad to hear that Jaclyn is so much better, quite a worry off your mind now I should think?

Oh, how exciting this is! As I have 2 sons and five step grandsons, I can say how pleased I'd be to have a real grandchild and if it was also a girl...well, wow! But a healthy much-wanted grandson would be just as welcome too, really.

No hints here as I have not shared my latest blogging with my sons so unlikely to read this and think: "Aw, Mum!"
