About Me

My photo
Delta, British Columbia, Canada
I took very early retirement from teaching in '06 and did some traveling in Europe and the UK before settling down to do some private tutoring. As a voracious reader, I have many books waiting in line for me to read. Tell me I shouldn't read something, and I will. I'm a happy, optimistic person and I love to travel and through that believe that life can be a continuous learning experience. I'm looking forward to traveling more some day. I enjoy walking, cycling, water aerobics & and sports like tennis, volleyball, and fastpitch/baseball. I'm just getting into photography as a hobby and I'm enjoying learning all the bits and bobs of my digital camera. My family is everything to me and I'm delighted to be the mother of two girls and the Gramma of a boy and a girl. I may be a Gramma, but I'm at heart just a girl who wants to have fun.

Friday Fill-Ins

I found this Friday happening over at Melli’s today! I've never seen it before and it looked fun, so I'll play along! Thanks Melli!

1. Ahhhh, it's so nice to have my house back to myself and listen to the silence!

2. One of my favourite things on my desk or bureau is the card my daughter gave me years ago in which she wrote, "Just because you’re my Mom and you do a great job at it! I love you!

3. Japanese Cherry Blossoms are already starting to bloom!

4. My blue recliner that used to be my mother’s is my favorite place to sit and read.

5. My homemade macaroni and cheese is delicious!

6. I love to watch scenery of other countries in movies.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching "Ratatouille", tomorrow my plans include getting my 3rd CT scan in 8 years and meeting Josie for a walk on the beach, and Sunday, I’m going to church to share my photos of the new baby!

Macaroni and cheese is aways so yummy! I like to try different recipes.

I sort of had the same answer for #1.

Every Friday a fill in is posted at the official site then post when you are done there and people visit!

mac and cheese is my favorite, especially when it is nice and crunchy.

Have a great walk with Josie

Well, you are WELCOME! Thanks for the mention! Your cherry trees are already blooming? WOW!

I couldn't help but look at the post below (darling baby by the way! darling toddler too!) and Eden must be a popular name this year! My best friend's daughter named her little girl Eden - she was born in November! I had NEVER heard of it before! Beautiful!

I remember that Lightship when it was at sea in the Bristol Channel. What a surprise to see it and your other Welsh pics. Different indeed.
Da iawn!

I was inspired to do my own fill-in late today. I enjoyed looking over your blog---your new family addition is so sweet. We have similar names running around our families---I have a daughter named Elizabeth (Bess) and a son named Jamie (Jamieson).
